The proposal seeks to offer an alternative scene to the urban landscape and everyday city life of Taipa Central by activating the heritage assets of the former Jockey Club site, transforming a vast portion of the ground into open public space and walkable districts, re-integrating the 36 hectare site into the neighbourhoods, existing green infrastructure and waterfront.
The masterplan reimagines the site as a vibrant centre of creativity, collaboration and community. There will be places for play, leisure, art and culture, community, spaces for developing personal interests and skills, accommodation for young tourists. The programme selection is intended to attract and mix different demographic groups and interests, encouraging community engagement, exchange of knowledge and interactions.
